As said by Wendy: This site began with only 3 pages and was first seen on the Net on October 12, 1996. It was maintained by me until May 9, 2003 when I handed it to Jim. Take good care and enjoy this site! It was made for Oz lovers everywhere. ~Wendy

When I began working on Wendy's Wizard of Oz back in May of 2003 I tried very hard to keep the same feel of the site yet completly update it at the same time. Throughout the rest of 2003 and 2004 Wendy's Wizard of Oz changed in appearance frequently until I was able to get everything to look and work togeather properly.

In March of 2005 I had a serious data corruption issue which destroyed what I had been working on as well as the more recent back-ups. I actually downloaded the site from the webserver and worked on that copy. With most of my original templates and source files gone it took much, much longer than I ever imagined to get the site back up and running properly. I had decided back in 2005 after the issue to attempt and convert the site over to Flash. I had started to make the search, scrolling text, music and a few other things in Flash. What quickly changed my mind is when Microsoft changed the way in which their web browser dealt with flash. Another set back was the Message Board had been hacked. It was no problem because that was constantly backed up.

Finally in December 2006 Wendy's Wizard of Oz was completly finished and working properly again. Now that the sites infastucture is fully back in order, my focus will now be on updating the content and adding new features and content.

We are now celebrating our tenth year online and I hope for many more years to come. As Wendy said before " Take good care and enjoy this site! It was made for Oz lovers everywhere".
